An Indonesian perfume house · Jakarta
Six eaux de parfum from essential oils distilled by our partners in Garut, Aceh, Timor, Banda, and Java.
Why Saujana
We don't make perfume that smells like Paris. We make perfume that smells like the places we come home to: Garut soil after rain, a Javanese veranda at nine at night, the Banda wind carrying nutmeg.

From field to bottle
Four steps, about five months from field to bottle. None of them can be hurried.
01
Vetiver is lifted after eighteen months, patchouli cut every four, jasmine picked before dawn. Timing decides half of the scent.
02
Our partners distil near the fields, in stills they maintain themselves. We smell and test every lot before we buy it.
03
At the Kemang perfume organ, Laksmi builds the top, heart, and base. A single perfume can take two hundred trials.
04
Eight weeks in dark glass, until the materials know each other. Then it is cold-filtered and bottled by hand.
